Eshu was our trek guide in January 2013 for a 10 day hike to the Simien Mountains and up to summit of Ras Dashen. He led us through the rugged mountain range, wandering through villages, connecting us with locals, helping us negotiate for jewelry along the way, and providing explanations on local culture and history throughout. Eshu paid close attention to our needs, whether it be to find an alternate route or special dietary considerations or accessing the medical mule, we felt well taken care of. Our unrelenting journey to the top of Ras Dashen was made possible with Eshu and our support crew who nourished us, ensured we were hydrated, and felt safe ascending. Following the long journey back to camp, we were delightfully greeted with song and dance. Eshe was at ease and brought good humour to a tough days for an amazing achievement. An experience only made possible through his patience, passion, and concern for our wellbeing. I highly recommend Eshu as a guide.

In 2012 me and my girlfriend undertook a 4 day trek through the simien mountains. Eshete was our guide. Right from the start we were very pleased with him. He is very informative and friendly without being pushy. Eshete did absolutely more then was expected from him as a guide. All combined I can truly say that after all my travels, he ranks top 3 of best guides ever. If you need a guide through the simiens or anywhere else, this is definitely your guy! You won't regret it al all.

use of our great guide Eshete. Eshete knows everything about the Simien and made our trek memorable. He is willing to make some nice detors and show you the beauty of his country. I completely recommend Eshete as a guide. My wife and I have been lucky enough to travel extensively throughout Asia, South America and Africa and I can honestly say that Eeshete is one of the best guides we've ever had. He was kind and thoughtful throughout the trek - always making sure that we were happy and knew the plan. He is also extremely knowledgable about the area and gave us an informative insight into life and wildlife in the Simiens as well as a wider understanding of Ethiopia. He has excellent English and is always keen to have fun and joke which is great when the trekking gets tough! I had the pleasure of getting to know Eshu during a 10 day guided hike in the Simien Mountains. Throughout this time he proved to be a courteous, respectful, knowledgeable and organised trip leader. He interacted well with group members of all ages and nationalities and was clearly respected by his fellow crew members and local people whom we met along the way. Nothing was ever too much trouble and his cheerful attitude was a delight. I would recommend Eshu to co-ordinate any trek in the Ethiopian mountains where he very clearly feels at home.
